Practice Exam

Taking a practice exam is vital if you are considering taking a CLEP test, the best thing you can do is pass the practice exam. Each study guide, based on the specific subject you are looking to test out of, typically has 3 practice exams. It is vital that you pass all 3 practice exams before taking the real test.

CLEP tests are great because they can save you so much time but don’t be in such a rush that you don’t spend the time studying and the preparation to pass the practice exam when it comes to the actual test day.

To help you be prepared, make sure to purchase the CLEP study guide. You can pick these up as most Barnes and Nobles or online. Be sure to call ahead if you are going to a local book store. I found that often they only carry a select few, even though there are over 34 different subject areas you can test out of.

By taking the practice exam in each study guide and mastering the questions that you miss, you will be prepared for the actual test. As soon as the test is over, you will receive a preliminary score that will tell you how well you performed on each aspect of the test. If you pass, you can electronically send your results to the college you are attending so they can add them to your transcript.

All 34 subject areas are offered through testing centers around the world, in fact, most of the time, you can take the CLEP test at your own college testing center on campus.

Taking the practice exam over and over until you have passed all 3 will ensure that you will be able to test out of as many classes as possible, saving yourself time and money!
