DSST testing is a method of providing your school evidence of prior learning. There are 38 exams available within the DSST program. Combine the DSST key program with the 34 clip test programs and you should easily be able to shave a year off your college degree plan as well as save yourself several thousands of dollars in tuition costs.

Prior learning assessment and the tests that you can take will give you full credit as if you had taken the entire class and paid full tuition.

Follow these simple steps to accelerate your degree and save on tuition:

Number 1: plan and work with your guidance counselor to find out which examines will fulfill the credit hours that you need.

Number 2: out of the available fields, choose the exam that is relevant to your degree as well as the experience you have.

Number 3: download the fact sheet, which is available for free, in addition to other approved study material to prepare yourself for the test.

Number 4: contact your school or local testing center and schedule the exam, the DSST exams are typically $80 and each testing center may or may not have an additional sitting fee to administer the test. If they do, it will be nominal.

Number 5: once you successfully pass the tests, inform the college of your test scores, often you have the ability to inform them electronically right after the test results are given, so that the credits can be applied to your official transcript.

Some of the benefits of the DSST program include:

Number 1: applying previous knowledge or experience to earn credit and test out of class.

Number 2: improve the chances of successfully being accepted to a college or university, or maximizing tuition assistance to enroll in more advanced level classes.

Number 3: make up for missed courses or credit hours.

Number 4:the biggest benefit of all, the amount of money you’ll save as well as the time that he was shortened in order to graduate.

Active duty military members and spouses.

One of the original goals the DSST tests include support for military family members and students. DSST were designed to provide a benefit to the military student or their family by allowing them to apply the education knowledge and experience gained in the military and applying that to testing out of classes without having a full credit.

Keep in mind, many testing programs allow you to take a test a 2nd time if you don’t successfully passed the 1st, however DSST no longer accommodates to those who do not pass the test the 1st time. It is imperative before you take the test that you have studied, feel prepared, and can pass the practice tests successfully because you only have one chance with this particular test.

I found from personal experience that you only need to take the test one time by preparing and using the study guides as well as the practice tests you will be able to pass each subject without a problem if you put the time and prepare yourself.
