CLEP Study Guide
Using the CLEP study guide as your primary tool for preparation in taking the CLEP exam is the best approach to passing the test. The CLEP exam cover 34 subjects, each ranging from 3 up to 12 credit hours that you can test out of. Preparing and passing the CLEP exam will save you a lot of time and money.
By passing a CLEP exam, you are awarded full credit hours as if you took the class, participated in all homework assignments and took the mid-tern and the final exam.
From personal experience, each CLEP test that I took, I passed and the only CLEP study guide I used was the official guide for each course. If you spend the time reading through the book and then taking the practice exams, you will be more than ready to pass the real test.
Each CLEP study guides comes with 3 practice exams. I would work on each exam until I was comfortable with every answer on the test, then move on to the next practice test. By reading through the book, learning the vocabulary and using the 3 practice exams, I found that I did not need other resources as study help.
One aspect that you need to be aware of, study for the wrong test does you no good. You need to work with a counselor in your school to map out which takes you feel will come easier to you and then make sure that they fulfill the required category of credits you need.
By looking at the complete list of 34 subjects as well as the difficulty list we publish on this site, you should be able to come up with a good list of CLEP tests you can take to fulfill as many credit hours as you can.
Remember, there is a limit on how many classes you are able to test out of. I was able to test out of almost an entire years worth of college, once I hit my limit I was not able to test out of any more classes enough though there were plenty more subjects I could use the CLEP study guide and test out of.
