CLEP Practice

There are a couple options to take CLEP practice tests. You should check with your schools guidance counselor to see what type of resources the school has. Each school is different, when I was working on my bachelors the school did not have any resources available for
CLEP practice test taking.

One of the secondary sources are help is the library, many libraries have access to “Test and Education Resources,” if your library has access to this system it is a great secondary source for test preparation.

The primary source is the CLEP practice study guides, each of the 34 subjects has a CLEP study guide to help prepare you with an overview of the subject information as well as a couple practice tests. These are the primary tool I used when taking and passing my CLEP exams.

Typically, I would read through the study guide once, very thoroughly, as well as learning the vocabulary that each study guide gives you. After I had read through the study guide, I would take the first CLEP practice test, I would then look at each question, one by one and see if it was answered correctly. If it was, I would move on, if it was not, I would not look at a the correct answer but go back through the study until I found the answer.

Using the official study guide as my CLEP practice I was able to pass every single CLEP exam I took.

Another resource is the Peterson practice CLEP test, when you take these test, you need score in the low range of at least 65-70 to be comfortable for the real CLEP test. Typically, you will need to score of 50 or higher on the real CLEP test. There are a few tests that will require a score of 60 , the study guide will show you exactly what score is needed for the subject you are looking to test out of.

Keep in mind, the study guide comes with 3 practices test, I strongly recommend that you take and pass all CLEP Practice test before taking the real test. If found that many of the practice test questions are very similar to the real test questions so this guide will prepare you well for taking the real test.
