CLEP Exams

CLEP exams can be the fastest and easiest way to earn college credit. CLEP exams are available for over 34 subject for undergraduate level accredited colleges. For the typical 120 credit degree plan, 90 of those credit hours will be lower level classes, the remaining 30, which are typically taken during the senior year, will be upper level credits.

CLEP gives you plenty of classes to test out of for the lower level classes while DANTES and ECE’s are better suited for upper division classes.

If you are feeling a bit nervous about taking CLEP exams, I have compiled a CLEP difficulty test list. Start with the easiest CLEP exams to pass and move on from there. There is no sense in starting out with hard to pass subjects.

CLEP Exams cover material taught over the semester and you will be expected to know the subject, however, you don’t have to know the subject as well as you would if you had attended an entire semester in person. You simply need to know enough to pass the CLEP exams. The best part is that each CLEP exam is either pass or fail, in other words, you can pass the test with a 60% average and get full credit without the grade showing on your transcript.

With over 3000 accredited universities accepting CLEP Exams as successfully fulfilling requirements for the course and with testing centers all over the country, there is no reason not to test out of the maximum number of credits you are allowed.

Its imperative that you work with a guidance counselor if you are considering taking a CLEP Exam. They will help you determine which subject you need credits for and which one you don’t. I learned this the hard way, I took one of the easier CLEP Exams and found out later, from the counselor, that I did not need any more credit hours for that particular category. Luckily, she was able to apply them to another area so the test was not taken in vain.

CLEP Exams are a great way to get a jump start on your college graduation date, get started today!
