Chemistry Clep Test

The chemistry  clep test has 75 total questions and required a score of 50 or better to pass. The clep test scoring model ranges from 20 to 80 and cost $77 to take. In addition to the clep test fee, there is a sitting fee charged by the testing center. These fees typically don’t cost more than $20 per session.

Unless you have a strong background in chemistry I would not recommend that you take the chemistry clep test. Here are my reasons:

1. The chemistry clep test covers material that is typically taught over an entire years worth of college. This is not traditional as most clep test only cover what is taught in a semester. So the amount of information you need to know is vastly more.

2. If you are pursuing a degree in chemistry, most college require lab credit hours. The clep test will earn you hours that apply towards the class credit hours but not the lab credit hours. It becomes hard and difficult for you to then earn lab credit hours without being in the chemistry class that typically goes with the lab itself.

3. There are so many other subjects that do not require nearly as much knowledge and are traditionally easier to pass.

Maybe its just me, but chemistry just doenst like me. I was able to pass or clep out of an entire years worth of college, by focusing on clep tests that I have experience in or that are known to be easy to pass, I would able to earn enough credit hours to fulfill an entire years worth of college without having to focus on areas that are technical and hard to study for.

So, unless you have a strong background in chemistry I would strongly recommend that you take other clep test in order to fulfill your credit hours and save on tuition.

If you are still determined to take the clep test, here is a brief overview of what you will need to know:

12% Reaction Types
10% Equations and Stoichiometry
09% Experimental Chemistry (Lab Questions)
07% Equilibrium 05%Thermodynamics
04% Kinetics
