Biology Clep

The biology clep test consists of 115 questions, there is a time limit of 90 minutes for this test and the required score of 50 or higher in order to pass the biology club tests.

This clep test, like many others, cost $77 to take. There is an additional fee that will be charged based on the testing center where you are taking the test, they have an administration fee that typically will be no more than $20. Traditionally each college and university has their own testing center and that is the place you should go to take the test.

I’ve taken many clep tests, in fact I was able to test out of a years worth of college, however the biology clep tests was not a test that I even wanted to attempt. Here’s my reasoning:

1. This particular test expects you to know and have an understanding of biology that would typically learn in one year of college in biology history. Whereas most clep tests will test you on what you would have learned during the semester, this this test expects you to know and remember and will test you on the equivalent of an entire year of biology classes.

2. Another reason I did not take this test, is many clep tests you will find will be a natural fit for areas that you already have knowledge and experience with. Then there will be another set of tests that are traditionally known to be easy comparative to the other 34 clep tests. When I first started taking my clep tests, I first focused on those areas that I had experience or knowledge and could easily pass, then, I moved on to the tests that were known to be easy even though I had no previous experience or knowledge with them.

Tests such as analyzing and interpreting American literature as well as a number of others that are published on the Clep Test Difficulty List, I found by focusing first on the subjects that I had knowledge and experience with and then focusing on the subjects that were easier to pass I filled all the credit hours that I was able to apply using the clip test method.

Now if you were still considering taking the biology clep test then the good news is that it is worth 6 hours because of the difficulty. Think of the time and money you will save given that taking this test will cost you less than $100 compared to paying full tuition for 6 credit hours.

There are 3 main areas that you need to be familiar with if you are going to pass the biology club test.

33% of the test will be based around population biology.
33% of the test will be based around cellular and molecular biology.
34% of the test will be based around organismal biology.

Please see the clep biology link for a more detailed review of the areas of study as well as some example test questions. In conclusion, if you can pass this test you either have a strong background in biology or you have an amazing ability to retain information by studying the official clep study guide. Either way, you should be taking many other clep test to save yourself time and money.
